Additionally, even though we checked in at the restaurant (which doubles as the office), the staff did not mention the "wine and dine" special at the restaurant - which meant we arrived about 5 minutes too late for it. Being that I am a smoker - the lack of a porch and no roof overhang outside our room meant I stood in the pouring rain to have a cigarette.

*Other rooms had the Adirondack chairs and a porch. We had no Adirondack chairs, but one cheap plastic chair. Our room not only did not have a nice little porch, it had a solid fence wall a few feet in front of the door. This appealed to me as a nice little place to sit outside in the evening. We will just be sure not too arrive before 5 pm again. The Clipper Inn is advertised (and shown in photos) as having a nice little porch in front of the rooms with Adirondack chairs. We will definitely go back though for dinner as that has always been excellent. The ice cream had that taste that it had been in the freezer too long, or near something else. The pie was served crammed in a jar and was ice cold, the fruit was very firm (we had been imaging warm pie with a scoop of ice cream slowly melting on top). Being a bakery, and with our previous awesome desserts here, we were disappointed in the pie a la mode. The waitress got side tracked with some dinner prep tasks however dessert did finally come. Our waitress was pleasant and we ordered fish tacos (soggy), the half-sandwich & soup of the day (tuna melt, nice, and lobster bisque, delicious). Not the usual warmth we had come to expect at Bella's (we wish they had just suggested to come back in 40 minutes, rather than make us feel awkward).

We like the porch overlooking the water very much however we felt in the way while they evaluated whether to put the heaters on, where to position them, which tables were reserved for dinner etc. After some discussion among the staff who were clearly busy with other things, we were offered the lunch menu and seated on the porch. We stopped by this month however were too early, we didn't realize dinner service does not start until 5 pm. We have been at Bella's before for dinners and have always enjoyed them.
